【英語】”Takoyaki” : 涼しくなってきたらアツアツのたこ焼きをどうぞ

“Takoyaki” 「たこ焼き」 is another causal Japanese food, often eaten as snacks.  It is a kind of fried dumpling made of a wheat flour base batter.  The word “Takoyaki” literally means ‘fried/grilled octopus’.  It is typically filled with minced octopus, scallions, “Beni-Shoga” (pickled ginger), and “Tenkasu” (scraps of tempura). “Takoyaki” is cooked using a special “Takoyaki” pan, which is an iron griddle having a half spherical molds.

たこ焼きもまた日本の庶民的な料理で、おやつとしても食べられることが多い、小麦ベースの生地から造られる団子状の食べ物です。  典型的には、刻んだ蛸、ネギ、紅ショウガ、てんかすなどが入っています。多数の半球状のくぼみのある専用の鉄板でつくります。

When served, “Takoyaki” is commonly topped with “Takoyaki” sauce, similar to Worcestershire sauce, and then with other toppings such as “Katsuobushi” (dried bonito flakes), “Aonori” (dried green seaweed), and Japanese Mayonnaise, especially popular in the recent years.
たこ焼きは、通常まずウスターソースに似たたこ焼きソースがかけられ、鰹節や青のり、そして近年人気となっている日本のマヨネーズなどのトッピングでいただきます。

This Osaka origin food has spread to other parts of Japan in the mid 20th century, and now available throughout the country. “Takoyaki” is available at specialty restaurants, but also from street vendors at festivals and special events all over the Japan!
