【英語】Chirashi-Sushi : ひな祭りにも食される寿司の芸術、ちらし寿司

“Chirashizushi” : Scattered Sushi
It is a dish of vinegared sushi rice topped with colorful seafood and vegetable ingredients, served in a large bowl or on a plate. Beautifully arranged ‘artistic’ dish is often prepared for celebrating special occasions or festivals, such as the Doll Festival, the Girls’ Festival on March 3.

ちらし寿司は、色鮮やかな魚介や野菜を酢飯の上にトッピングした料理で、大き目の丼やお皿に盛りつけられ、ひな祭りなど祝いの場で食されることも多い芸術的な料理です。
 
The dish is usually served cold, and the topped ingredients are typically cooked seafood and vegetables, rather than raw “Sashimi”.
通常は冷たい状態で食され、トッピングは鮮魚というよりは手の入れられた海鮮や野菜であるのが普通です。
 
Standard toppings include;
 

Simmered “Shiitake” Mushrooms 煮しいたけ
Vinegared “Renkon”, Lotus Roots れんこん
Shredded “Nori”, Seaweed のり
“Kinshi Tamago”, Shredded Egg Crepes 錦糸玉子
“Nianago”, Broiled Conger Eel 煮穴子
Cooked Shrimps 海老
“Ikura”, Salmon Roe イクラ
